Choc-almond brownies

These brownies are definitely not for the faint of heart! Indulge at your own risk.

Stuff you’ll need:

  • 1 c plain flour
  • ½ c sugar
  • ½ c cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ c agave nectar
  • ½ c vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp vanilla essence
  • ¼ c almond milk
  • 100g dark chocolate
  • ½ c almonds, chopped

How to make it:

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius and grease a tray or baking tin with vegetable oil
  2. Combine the first five ingredients and mix well
  3. Combine the next four ingredients (agave nectar, vegetable oil, vanilla essence and almond milk) in a separate bowl and whisk together
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry and fold together with a wooden spoon (don’t overmix)
  5. Break the dark chocolate into pieces and add to the mixture, along with the nuts
  6. Put the mixture into the tin and bake for 20 minutes or until your neighbours start to line up at your door
  • Serve with vegan cream, yoghurt or ice cream.
